100+ Years of History

Join us on a nostalgic journey through time as we proudly commemorate the Northumberland County Law Association’s remarkable 100-year legacy. Explore key milestones, pivotal moments, and the incredible evolution that has shaped us into the thriving association we are today. Our centennial timeline is a testament to the dedication, innovation, and community spirit that define our local bar, and has been made only possible by you, our members.

While the association has been active far longer than 100 years, it was only on 7 March 1924 that the United Counties of Northumberland and Durham officially incorporated – with William Kerr as its first official President. This project has been made possible with assistance from the Cobourg Public Library, and the Law Society of Ontario’s Archives.

Information has been organized into decades, each other their own interactive timeline. A new timeline will be released once a month leading up to the NCLA’s Gala, planned for November 2024.
